Benefits:
With the kBox, you work against the variable inertia of heavy steel flywheels, instead of lifting dumb weights against gravity. The kBox is renowned for its genial application of eccentric overload in regular training as well as its variable resistance, both backed by growing scientific support
It also offers a number of important practical benefits, including:
- It is a truly versatile multi-purpose training device, for exercises training both upper body, core and lower body.

Voices about the kBox
{tab Benefits}
The kBox flywheel training device offers important benefits of efficiency, based on decade of experience and extensive product development. Beyond the physiological advantages of flywheel training, these kBox 3 benefits result in increased efficiency of training programs while lowering the total costs as compared to alternatives.
Versatility
With a dozen documented exercises and many more invented by creative coaches and physiotherapists, the kBox is a truly versatile multi-purpose training device that is widely used far beyond basic squat exercises. The cost of a pro-grade kBox system is under 1/3 of the price of a typical standard single-exercise weight stack machine.
Portability
The kBox flywheel training device is completely mobile and portable, creating multiple benefits:
- It can be moved around inside a training facility or clinic to facilitate for varying use of limited floor space.
- It can be easily transported in an ordinary car or checked-in when travelling by air. Also, travelling athletes could simply bring their own kBox and do the same training as they do at home, instead of adjusting to what is offered at the location they are visiting at the moment.
- Teams can bring the device out when training in the field, or for post-activation potentiation before competitions.
- It is easy to stove away whether in your small physio clinic or home gym. For larger gyms, it can be easily alternated between flywheel group training and other programs.
This is possible since the weight of the kBox is about 25 kg (55 lbs) with flywheels included and it measures only 100 x 50 x 22 cm. The kBox also does not require electricity. In comparison, squatting with traditional weights requires a barbell and 200+ kgs (500+ lbs) of weights for a strong lifter as well as rubber mats and racks for the weights.
Digital Feedback
The kBox 3 includes an advanced rotational sensor accurately measuring your performance. With the kMeter app-based wireless feedback system this can be used to measure and save actual power output as well as estimations of several other key variables. The kMeter comes priced far below comparable systems and is intuitively easy to use for coaches and physiotherapists as well as directly by the athlete or patient.
Quick Switching
Thanks to the automatic belt adjustment of the kBox 3, switching between drills and users is quick and hassle-free. In addition, changing the resistance in terms of inertia requires only a quick shift of light flywheels, weighing only a couple of kgs each. This creates important efficiency advantages in team sports and group training programmes as well as for the individual trainee. You spend more time working out while your competitors are spending their days switching weights.
Silent Work
The kBox practically doesn't emit any sound at all. There is only a low hum from the belt, and you can hear when the flywheel changes direction. But you will certainly sound a lot more. Hence, there is no need for noise reducing measures such as rubber mats or noise reducing plates. It is easy to communicate with the subject performing the exercises. And it can be used anywhere, even in your living room.
Economy
In summary, the benefits of the kBox boil down to the possibility of more efficient and effective training programs, at a lower total cost than traditional purely weight-based alternatives.

Without losing the edge of balance and postural training, this exercise really boosts your force development in the lower body. Watch video. #kBoxLunge
Hip extension
An underused exercise that really targets the upper hamstrings. Suitable for both rehabilitation and performance. Read more or watch video. #kBoxHipExt
Single leg RDL
If you want to really load a single leg RDL (Romanian Deadlift), the kBox version is your choice. Try variations using contra- or ipsilateral arm and feel the difference in the working leg and the core. The variable resistance will give you a smooth and hard contraction all over the range of motion. #kBoxRDL
Deadlift
It could be a regular deadlift or stiff-legged deadlift. The experience of the eccentric phase in the #kBoxDeadlift will be new for most people. A nice exercise for lower back and hamstrings. Read more or watch video. #kBoxDeadlift
High pull
Can be a total body workout on the kBox thanks to the variable resistance and eccentric overload. Kick in with the legs and the eccentric phase will kick you back. With the Exxentric ultra light bar, this will be your new favorite exercise. Forget giving the biceps 12 sets in the gym. The kBox will do the work in 3 maximal sets with eccentric overload. Read more or watch video. #kBoxBicepsCurl
Triceps extension / over-head press
Slow and heavy with high force development with some core strength added. Perfect for a basic exercise to build strength and power in more complex exercises. Watch video. #kBoxTricepsExtension
