In most cases, a panic attack subsides within half an hour, leaving the uncontrolled feeling of fear as a very unpleasant memory in mind.
A single experienced panic attack is already stressful enough and is perceived by the person concerned in retrospect as very worrying.
But there are also many people who experience such panic attacks on a regular basis, which can be so exhausting that some affected people avoid any triggers and prefer to stay home. The ensuing isolation of other people is of course additionally stressful.
