Product Description
OMRON HeatTens - TENS unit with heat function
The OMRON HeatTens combines heat and TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) technology to help relieve stiffness in muscles and joints such as the back, arms, legs, shoulders and feet. This method uses electrical stimulation (TENS) and heat as an aid to relief. It is important to note that this device is not intended to be a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. Users should use the device in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and consult a physician with any questions or concerns.

FAQ
What is low frequency electrotherapy and how does it work?
Electrical signals are sent to specific parts of the body via "electrode pads". The muscles react to this. As a result, two things happen:
- Pump movement of the muscles: By applying low-frequency electrical waves to an area of the body with stiffness / fatigue, the muscles contract and then relax again.
Muscle contracts: "used" blood is flushed out
Muscle relaxes: fresh blood flows in
This repeated “pumping of the muscles” promotes blood circulation. Stiff shoulders, tired legs and cramps can be relieved. - Relieving pain:
By applying low-frequency signals to the painful area, the nerves in that area are stimulated, thereby affecting the transmission of pain to the spinal cord ("preventing" a pain message). These have a relatively short effect. Frequencies: 2 - 100 Hz.
Electric waves also stimulate the human body to release natural substances similar to morphine (endorphins). These have a much longer effect (5 - 12 h). Frequencies: 100 - 1200 Hz.
The result is pain relief.
The electrode pads on my device no longer "stick". Do i need new ones?
The electrode pads, including the "Long Life Pads", must be replaced regularly. However, the lifespan of the pads can often be extended by rinsing them under cold tap water (no soap required), shaking off excess liquid, reinserting the pads into the clear plastic cover or plastic holder (LongLife pads only), and then leaving the pads in overnight put in the refrigerator (not in a freezer). This should restore the pads' adhesion. If this does not happen, the pads have been used up and need to be replaced. Contact your nearest OMRON dealer for new ones.
