Functions and AFib detection
The OMRON M3 Comfort AFib measures blood pressure and pulse on the upper arm using the oscillometric measurement method. During each measurement, the time intervals between individual pulse beats are additionally analyzed.
AFib stands for “Atrial Fibrillation” and describes irregular time intervals between heartbeats. During blood pressure measurement, the device analyzes pulse intervals and can detect deviations that may be associated with such irregularities.
The benefit of this function lies in the extended and structured evaluation of measurement values. Repeated AFib indications can be documented over time and classified as supplementary information.
