The RSP SQUAT is an innovative training machine for developing the acceleration and braking power of the lower body, based on the squat movement and its vertical variations. The machine's fixed rotation system ensures efficient training by keeping the load constant and allowing it to be adjusted as needed. The RSP SQUAT offers athletes the opportunity to optimize both the eccentric (braking) and the concentric (acceleration) phases of the movement.
The use of the 1x2 gear ratio increases the training stimulus by increasing the time under tension. Athletes can specifically improve control over their movement sequences and efficiently train their muscular structure. A special feature of the RSP SQUAT is the option to individually adjust the moment of inertia through the integrated masses.
How do you use the RSP SQUAT?
The RSP SQUAT was developed to optimise athletic movements involving squats and their variations as much as possible. It is important to adjust the device precisely so that the rope always remains taut and optimally supports the movement.
Setting up the device:
- Set the appropriate rope length: Stand in the maximum stretching position where you want your movement to end. Adjust the rope length so that the rope is fully taut at the end of your movement.
- Optimal movement execution: Make sure that the rope remains taut throughout the entire movement and does not lose tension. This ensures a smooth transition between the concentric (upward) and eccentric (downward) phases.
Notes on familiarisation: Since the device works with a belt that pulls the body downwards and the dynamics of the movement continuously alternate between phases, it may feel strange at first. A short familiarisation period helps to perform the movements correctly.
Tip for adjustment:
To start with, the rope can be set a little longer (5-8 cm). This facilitates the transition to the upward movement and prevents an abrupt pull that could disrupt the flow of movement and block the energy generated. This helps to ensure that the movement remains fluid and effective.
