Product Description
Waverox Mind Tracker Headband – EEG Headband for Real-Time Insights into Mental Activity
The Mind Tracker Headband records brain signals via four EEG channels as well as additional biosignals such as PPG and motion data. This combination enables a differentiated observation of mental activity patterns and supports structured training approaches and applications in research, analysis, and development environments.
The system uses dry, gold-plated electrodes that work without gel and enable stable signals even through hair.
Neutral Visualization of Mental Activity
The headband provides EEG-based activity patterns in real time. The app complements this with structured displays, trend charts, and analysis tools for mental states such as activation level, rest indicators, and load patterns.
Key Features
Real-Time EEG Recording
Four EEG channels (O1, O2, T3, T4; reference Fpz) enable observation of mental activity patterns without gel or paste.
Additional Biosignals
- PPG signal trends
- Motion data from gyroscope and accelerometer sensors
Mental Metrics
- Activity patterns such as flow indications
- Calmness indicators
- Load indicators such as cognitive load
- Indications of mild and pronounced fatigue states
- Stress indicators
Slots – Temporal Classification of Load and Recovery
The app classifies phases of mental load and recovery as “slots.” This creates understandable time patterns that show how activity and rest phases are distributed throughout the day.
The App – Analysis Tools, Real-Time Feedback and Individual Alpha Frequency
The accompanying Mind Tracker app enhances the headband’s sensor data with structured visualizations of mental activity patterns and offers tools that support the interpretation of EEG-based metrics. All representations are neutral and focus solely on displaying and categorizing recorded data.
iAF / iAPF – Individual Alpha Frequency
The app measures the individual alpha frequency (iAF / iAPF), which serves as a parameter for a personal activity profile. Based on this value, the app indicates which types of tasks may currently feel easier, such as creative, analytical, or structured activities.
- Display of individual alpha frequency
- Tendencies toward task preference types (e.g., Creator, Manager, Engineer)
- Indicators of which tasks may feel easier at a given moment
Real-time feedback on mental activity indicators
The app displays various EEG-based state indicators, including:
- activation and engagement patterns
- proportions of lower-activation phases
- indications of fatigue tendencies
- signs of increased tension
- mental effort level
Task-related context
The app visualizes how the current task relates to activation level and attention. This helps contextualize focus patterns throughout an activity.
Slots – Time-based analysis of load and recovery patterns
The app highlights periods throughout the day in which activation or recovery predominates. These time-based patterns help illustrate when phases of higher mental load or quieter intervals occur.
Focus change indications
The app detects patterns that may indicate a shift in focus and displays them as contextual cues, supporting the interpretation of attention dynamics.
Visualization of state trends
- trend graphs for load, calm phases, and activation
- session-to-session comparison views
- clear visual summaries of relative state proportions
Additional supported functions
- Meditation features with optional sound support
- visual representations of engagement, calmness and tension tendencies
- task-related overview metrics
Privacy-friendly architecture
According to the developer, data is not stored centrally; processing occurs locally on the device or within the app. No data is shared with third parties, and users can request data deletion.
Ideal for
- analysis of mental activity patterns
- structured routine training
- monitoring load and recovery intervals
- data-based interpretation of mental states
- development of EEG-based software solutions
