Product Description
OMRON M500 Intelli IT: Upper arm blood pressure monitor with AFib detection
The OMRON M500 Intelli IT is an upper arm blood pressure monitor designed to measure blood pressure and pulse and detect irregular heartbeats that could indicate atrial fibrillation (AFib). The Intelli Wrap cuff of the OMRON M500 Intelli IT ensures even pressure distribution around the arm, which contributes to more accurate measurement results and reduces the risk of incorrect measurements due to incorrect cuff positioning. The measurement data is shown on the device display and can be transferred to the OMRON Connect app on a smartphone via Bluetooth. The app allows measurement results to be saved, tracked and shared with the doctor.

How can I clean my blood pressure monitor?
Wipe the outside of the meter with a soft, dry cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners and never immerse the meter or components in water. The cuff can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap.
How do I put on the upper arm cuff (small, medium or large) and how do I use it?
When the cuff is put on correctly, the Velcro fastener is on the outside of the cuff loop and the metal ring does not touch your skin. With the cuff open, thread the end of the cuff furthest from the air tube through the metal ring to form a loop. The soft fabric should be on the inside of the cuff loop.
- Take off tight-fitting clothing on your upper arm.
- Sit on a chair and put your feet flat on the floor.
- Put your left arm in the cuff loop. The lower end of the cuff should be 1-4. Lie 2 cm above the elbow (width of your index or middle finger). The cuff should be around your arm so that the tube runs along the middle of your arm in line with your middle finger (palm facing up and facing up).
- Attach the cuff to your arm with the Velcro fastener. Pull the cuff so that the top and bottom are evenly attached to the arm.
- The cuff should be tight, but not too tight & ndash; just tight enough that it is difficult to slip 2 fingers under the cuff. This distance is essential for an accurate measurement. The digital blood pressure monitors from OMRON measure the blood pressure with the oscillometric method, whereby the movement of the blood in the upper arm artery is recorded and converted into digital measured values.
- Relax your arm and place your elbow on a table so that the cuff is level with your heart. Turn your palm up.
- Make sure there are no kinks in the air hose. Be careful not to press the air tube with your elbow when measuring your blood pressure.
- Press the & ldquo; O / I START & ldquo; button or "START" to begin measuring blood pressure.
- For more information, see the device's instructions for use.

Why do my blood pressure readings seem to be fluctuating?
There can be various causes for fluctuations in the measured values. For example, an activity shortly before the measurement or even the time of day can change the measured value.
In addition, correct application is important for reliable measurement results. Below are some possible causes of fluctuating or inaccurate readings:
Cuff size
Using a cuff size that is appropriate for your arm is essential to get accurate readings from the blood pressure monitor. To determine the right cuff size, you need to measure your arm circumference. You should check your arm circumference regularly. This is especially important if your arm circumference is exactly at a limit or you have gained or lost it.
It is important that you ensure that the arm cuff that you are using with your meter is the right size for you. If the wrong cuff is used, the readings may be inaccurate and / or the cuff may be damaged (air bubble).
Find out your arm circumference by placing a measuring tape around your arm midway between your elbow and shoulder. Wrap the measuring tape evenly around your arm. Do not tighten the measuring tape. Make a note of the exact reading in centimeters.
Applying the cuff
1. Place your left arm in the cuff loop. The lower end of the cuff should be 1-4. Lie 2 cm above the elbow (width of your index or middle finger). The cuff should be around your arm so that the tube runs along the middle of your arm in line with your middle finger.
2. Attach the cuff to your arm with the Velcro fastener. Pull the cuff so that the top and bottom are evenly attached to the arm.
Before the measurement
Refrain from eating, drinking alcohol, smoking, sporting activities and bathing 30 minutes before the measurement and rest for 15 minutes before taking the measurement. Do not measure when you are under stress. Measure in a quiet place.
Body position
Sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Place your arm on a table with the palm up. The cuff should be at the level of the heart. Do not speak or move during the measurement.
