The BrainBit EEG Headband is an intelligent EEG device that allows brain activity to be recorded, processed and acted upon without the need for specialist assistance.

Traditionally, EEG (electroencephalogram) devices have been used in medical research and applications. Thanks to technological advances, the EEG can now be used in a variety of ways, from individual monitoring of brain activity to optimising personal everyday behaviour. The BrainBit headband is designed for everyday use, such as relaxation, stress reduction, concentration and focus.

The EEG headband uses 4 medical-grade biosensors to provide reliable information about brain activity. Each electrode is connected directly to specific regions of the brain (the temporal lobe regions T3 and T4 and the occipital lobe regions O1 and O2). Research shows that these regions provide particularly good signals for the four main types of brainwaves. The BrainBit headband monitors the electrical activity in these brain regions and records it as raw EEG data. This raw data is then processed for the user to make it easier to understand. The results are transmitted in real time via Bluetooth to a smartphone, tablet or computer. The headband is easy to set up and comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The BrainBit meets the requirements of FCC and CE certification standards.

What does the BrainBit headband measure?

The BrainBit headband measures brain activity in the following categories:

The accompanying app provides users with instant assessment and feedback on their current brain state. The results are displayed on a scale from 1 to 100 and categorised in easy-to-understand colours such as red, yellow and green. Based on these results, the user can perform targeted brain training with BrainBit. Training progress is displayed in real time in the app and is incorporated into the training process.
