Product Description

biosignalsplux EMG Sensor - Surface EMG for research and training

Description

The biosignalsplux EMG Sensor captures the electrical activity of skeletal muscles as surface EMG. The bipolar, differential measurement with a preconditioned analog output supports precise analysis in areas such as biomechanics, sports science, ergonomics or human-computer interaction. The compact housing with a shielded, integrated cable simplifies use in laboratory environments and in mobile setups.

This article is an accessory for the biosignalsplux system. Operation requires a compatible biosignalsplux acquisition unit, available separately. The sensor is intended for professional users in research, education and development.

Product features

  • Bipolar, differential measurement, reduces common-mode interference and supports stable signals during everyday movement.
  • Preconditioned analog output, ready for processing by the biosignalsplux recording system.
  • High signal-to-noise characteristics, enables clean raw data acquisition.
  • Compact form factor, sensor and shielded cable are integrated to save space.
  • UC-E6 connector, quick and secure connection to the biosignalsplux acquisition unit.
  • Raw data for detailed analysis, suitable for evaluating activation timing, amplitude courses or pattern recognition.

Benefits

  • Fast integration into existing setups, direct connection to biosignalsplux hardware, no custom electronics required.
  • Reliable measurements, differential pickup, high input impedance and defined bandwidth support reproducible results.
  • Mobile use, lightweight, miniaturized design is suitable for lab and field studies.
  • Scalable, multiple sensors can be combined within a biosignalsplux system, depending on the acquisition unit used.

  • Use only with a suitable biosignalsplux acquisition unit, follow the technical specifications of the base hardware.
  • Before use, consider common EMG placement guidelines, proper skin preparation and secure cable routing.
  • Prices, specifications and availability are subject to change, images for illustration only.
  • Positioned as technical measuring accessory for research, teaching and development.

Important note: This product does not replace medical treatment, for questions regarding wellbeing a medical consultation is recommended.

Frequently asked questions about the biosignalsplux EMG Sensor

What does the biosignalsplux EMG Sensor measure?

The sensor records electrical activity patterns of skeletal muscles as surface EMG and provides a preconditioned analog signal for analysis.

What are common application areas?

Typical uses include biomechanics, sports science, ergonomics, human-computer interaction, robotics and teaching, both in laboratories and in mobile studies.

Is a separate acquisition unit required?

Yes. A compatible biosignalsplux acquisition unit is required for operation. It is not included and is available separately.

Is the sensor compatible with third-party systems?

The UC-E6 connection is designed for biosignalsplux acquisition systems. Use with other devices is not intended.

Are electrodes included?

Electrodes are generally not included. Suitable disposable or reusable surface electrodes can be sourced separately.

How should electrodes be placed?

Typical placement is bipolar, with two electrodes over the muscle belly aligned with the muscle fibers and a reference electrode on an electrically neutral area. Proper skin preparation supports stable signals.

What signal characteristics can be expected?

The preconditioned analog output offers a bandwidth of 25-500 Hz, gain of 1000, measurement range of ±1.5 mV at 3 V supply and high common-mode rejection.

Is the sensor intended for clinical diagnosis or therapy?

No. This item is a technical measuring accessory for research, development and education. It is not intended for diagnosis, monitoring or treatment.

What is the cable length and are variants available?

The cable length is typically 100 cm with tolerance. Custom lengths may be offered depending on availability and at extra cost.

How are signals recorded and processed?

Acquisition is performed via the compatible biosignalsplux hardware. Processing can be done with the associated software or with custom pipelines, depending on project requirements.

What care and handling should be considered?

Protect the sensor and cable from moisture, tensile stress and sharp bends, remove gel or adhesive residue after use and store according to the manufacturer instructions.
